More and more jobs these days require the use of computers and keep us working with them to overcome the increasingly fierce business competition.  This means that we all need to find more ways to work more efficiently at the office.  There are so many simple things you can do, and one way is to start with a small change in your equipment, mainly your mouse and keyboard.

Move Faster

Swapping out your old mouse for a programmable gaming mouse, for instance, can make things run more smoothly. How many times have you sat at your desk and fought with a mouse that doesn't want to move on the screen where you need it to be? It can be a huge waste of time. Using a mouse with a higher Dot Per Inch (DPI) can make a difference. Basically, what the DPI number says is that for every 1 inch you move your mouse, the cursor will move that many pixels on the screen. A standard computer mouse usually has a DPI around 800 to 1000. A gaming mouse averages 1600 to 2000 DPI. So, you get greater and more smooth movement on the screen and less movement of the hand.

Gaming Grade Comfort

Because a gaming mouse is designed to use for long periods of time, they are usually more ergonomic and comfortable to use. This means you can be more productive because you won't be in pain from long hours of work.  They also don't have a power saving feature like the average mouse, which means there's no lag time when you need to use it because it never powers off.

Program Your Repeat Actions

A gaming mouse also comes with additional buttons that are usually programmable and can free up your need to have wasted movement. For instance, if you are working on something and need to back out of a screen with a regular mouse, you have to move up to the top of the screen and hit the back arrow. On a gaming mouse, there is an extra key you can click to go to the previous screen or another you can click to move forward again. Once you get used to these unique features, you will not want to go back to a traditional mouse.

Program Your Repeat Keystrikes

Using a programmable gaming keyboard can also really up the efficiency. Many programs in your computer have built in short cuts that you can use. And sometimes they allow you to program new ones. But you have to know the software to make sure that you aren't trying to program something that will interfere with those already in the program. A gaming keyboard traditionally offers at least 5 programmable keys. This means that you can program each key to do ANY function you need without any fear of it interfering with program presets. In addition, these keyboards tend to also be much more ergonomic, meaning less hand and wrist strain by the end of the day.

Time to Upgrade Your Office Gears

There are many advantages to using these pieces of equipment and there are lots of options available in a wide variety of price ranges. I would highly suggest for your own benefit in both efficiency and longevity that you take a look at what is out there available for gaming equipment. A lot of professionals are switching over to using these in their offices because they recognize the advantages, and once you try it, you will too.
