If you search for mechanical gaming keyboard in the market, you'll notice most of them are black or dark color, including ours. However, not everyone is fan of black, some people, like Apple mac users, female gamers, or office workers may prefer something different. So today, HAVIT released HV-KB389L RGB Backlit Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, a complete white mechanical keyboard that comes with Kailh Brown Switch and powerful features. (Update: After the release of the white version, we have receive many request for the black version, so we released a black version as well. Please visit the link to learn more about it.)
The Look
The HAVIT HV-KB389L Mechanical Gaming Keyboard does not have the same aggressive design like other gaming keyboards, however, if you lift up the keyboard, you can tell it is more than an ordinary keyboard, because it has a weight of 1.2 kg (about 2.64 pounds), almost as heavy as the metal covered HV-KB366L mechanical keyboard. And unlike HV-KB366L or HV-KB378L, which are covered with metal plate, the HAVIT HV-KB389L is completely made of hard plastic, allowing a warmer touch and feel.

The HAVIT HV-KB389L Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is a pure white keyboard, which is a rare feature in the mechanical keyboard market. Although it is white, you can put more color on it by customizing the LED backlit, which makes the keyboard like a canvas that you can design on. Besides the RGB LED backlit of the keys, there’s a strip of LED light around the keyboard, display one of the 7 color as you choose. You can customize the lights so that the keyboard looks more colorful and better go with your decor.
The Lights
The backlit system of HV-KB389L Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is one of the most complicated, yet the most fun to play with one among HAVIT keyboards. Generally there are 6 Backlit modes (Not include the sub-modes under the Interactive mode): Interactive mode: The lights change as you type. There are 4 interactive modes: Single Key Lighting mode, Ripple Mode, Zone Lighting mode, and Typing Speed mode.

The Switch
While all of our previous mechanical keyboards use Outemu Blue Switch, the HAVIT HV-KB389L Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is the first HAVIT keyboard that uses Kailh Brown Switch. In the specifications, Outemu Blue Switch (HV-KB378L) requires 60±15g of operating force, and travels 4.0±0.2 mm in total, while Kailh Brown Switch (HV-KB389L) requires 50~60g operating force, and also travel 4.0 mm in total. In practical, the biggest difference between Outemu Blue Switch and Kailh Brown Switch is that Kailh Brown Switch does not have a noticeable tactile bump half way pressing a key like Outemu Blue Switch does, so it is more “straight forward”. Also Kailh Brown Switch does not come with the clicky sound like Outemu Blue Switch does, making it a quieter switch. Besides these differences, Outemu Blue Switch and Kailh Brown Switch both only require a few operating force to press, therefore you can expect the same clear and crispy typing experience on the HV-KB389L keyboard.

The Features
One of the great things about HAVIT HV-KB389L is that as a feature-rich keyboard, it also users to perform all the features without installing extra software or drivers. Here are some of the features of the keyboard.N-Key Rollover
The HAVIT HV-KB389L Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is by default N-key rollover, allowing users to press several keys at the same time without conflicting with each other (ghosting). This is a helpful feature for fast typists or hardcore gamers, because they type as if they are pressing several keys at the same time, and will cause conflicts on some other keyboards.
Macro Programming
Macros help users to combine several keystrokes into one, but most of the programmable keyboards in the market, including our Lammergeier keyboard, require software to program the macro keys. With the HAVIT HV-KB389L Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, you can program the 5 macro keys (Y, U, I, O, P) on the keyboard itself.
