      Hi Gabriel,

Yes it will charge your 2016 MBP 15″ with the latest Power Delivery technology. There is a USB C port on the hub that can be connected to external power sources, once the hub is connected to an external power source, it will fast charge your MacBook.

      Hi there,

The HDMI can be used even without power connected. As for USB ports, it depends on how much power your USB device consumes. If your device doesn’t use much power, like a USB flash drive, then you don’t have to connect to power; but if your device consumes a lot of power, like an external hard drive, then you’ll have to connect to power.

      1. So is it ok to use 2 usb 3.0 hard drive and charge my iPhone at the same time time,
If it’s connect to power?(which means MacBook Pro power cable through PD?)
      2. if number 1 works it can still connect to 4K 60hz display through HMDI at the same time?
      3. Is it like it’s likely to work everything properly if it’s connect with power?
      4. So if it’s not heavy duty of power it still works without power cable?( like just 1 hard drive and a mouse and IPhone?) asking if it will work ok if I’m outdoor.
      5. Is it Ok to charge iPhone and 1 hard drive without power when outdoor?
      6. So if connect to lots of consumers it will charge slower to the MacBook it self?

I’m going to get a MacBook Pro 2016 15′ , so try to get the hub in advance.

      Hi Eric,

      1. So is it ok to use 2 usb 3.0 hard drive and charge my iPhone at the same time time, If it’s connect to power?(which means MacBook Pro power cable through PD?)

      – As different external hard drives have different level of power consumption, they may not get enough power if two or more are used at the same time, therefore we don’t recommend using two external hard drives at the same time. You can charge your phone with the hub, but as the hub is not designed to charge mobile phones, the charging speed may not be very fast.

      2. if number 1 works it can still connect to 4K 60hz display through HMDI at the same time?

      – The display resolution is not affected by the connected USB devices, so yes, you can still use HDMI at 4K 60hz

      3. Is it like it’s likely to work everything properly if it’s connect with power?

      – In normal circumstances yes, but as said above, two or more external hard drives may cause problem

      4. So if it’s not heavy duty of power it still works without power cable?( like just 1 hard drive and a mouse and IPhone?) asking if it will work ok if I’m outdoor.

      – First of all, external hard drives are usually “heavy duty” devices, as they consume more power than a normal flash drive. Secondly, it is possible to have 1 hard drive, a mouse and iphone connected without external power, but in this case the power source would be the laptop itself, which may have limit in power output, so it may cause one or more devices not getting enough power.

      5. Is it Ok to charge iPhone and 1 hard drive without power when outdoor?

      – The above answer applies too.

      6. So if connect to lots of consumers it will charge slower to the MacBook it self?

      – Yes, the charging speed will be slower in this case, because the amount of power input is fixed, and the more power other devices use, the less power Macbook gets.

      Hi Eric,

And…does it fast charge other devices?

      – Yes you can use the hub to charge your devices, but as the hub is designed to transfer data rather than charging devices, the speed of charging may not be as fast as directly plugging into the USB ports on the laptop.

And can it work if I connect my iPhone and use tethered hotspot internet sharing?

      – While the hotspot feature is generated from your iPhone itself, the hub can charge your iPhone while you are using it as a hotspot, so yes, you can use the hub this way.

      Hi there,

The hub adapts to the refresh rate of your video source and your monitor, so the actual refresh rate depend on these devices. You will not experience lagging if your video source and monitor are display at a refresh rate over 24Hz.

The imput part of the hub adapts to the laptop, which means it supports the 60Hz of the Macbook. The output part is 30Hz. We will improve the output refresh rate in the future.

      Edited to correct the answer

Is it equipped with a Texas Instruments Thunderbolt 3 Controller?
So: does it work with MacBook Pro late 2016? See http://www.macrumors.com/2016/11/03/new-macbook-pros-thunderbolt-3-compatibility/

      Hi Michael,

Thanks for sharing this information with us. Technically this hub is a USB 3.1 device rather than a Thunderbolt 3 device, and it does not equipped with a Texas Instruments Thunderbolt 3 Controller, so it should be compatible with the MacBook Pro 2016.

5 out of 5 Great adapter

This is my review of the HAVIT HV-TPC68 Powered USB C Hub with HDMI Works as advertised with my 12” Macbook with retina display. Price is less than that of the Apple adapter, while the feature set is more robust.

Good: Lots of ports! While I do not always need ports, when I do want to connect something I’d rather have 1 adapter for them all. This does the job well. Plenty of space between usb ports so large dongles and fit side-by-side.

Bad: After trying with multiple cables it seems the HDMI port is a little tight and older cables had trouble going in smoothly. I also wish there was a micro SD Card slot as well.

Other: For those of you who want to use a usb c charging hub but found it doesn’t work with the Apple adapter, you’ll be happy to know that this one worked for me. Overall I am very happy. I got this as a gift and so far I can’t complain.

5 out of 5 It completes my macbook

I don’t know what Apple was thinking, but only one USB port, no matter how great it is, is far from sufficient for normal user like me. Fortunately this usb hub gives me the extra ports that were missing on my macbook, so I can use it like a normal laptop again
